trip to ikea + inspiration board

I took the kids to IKEA yesterday for what was supposed to be a fun afternoon of lunch and strictly buying frames for a photo wall in our upstairs hallway. After shedding blood, sweat and tears (yes I’m serious, Winston got a paper cut in the checkout line) … I walked out with two carts and three very cranky children.

And just to give you a full understanding of the situation – one of my children (whom will remain nameless) managed to spill not one, not two but three drinks in a 3-hour time span. Testing mama’s patience? I think so. {ps: they do have childcare if you find yourself in a similar situation}

The stress of it all and the minor panic attack due to claustrophobia was all worth it though because I saved boat-loads on the cutest navy stripe duvet covers and inserts, window treatment hardware (which I hate spend on…would rather put it towards the fabric), and TONS of picture frames.

As a reward for their so-so behavior I took the kids to see Inside Out yesterday evening. Mr. T had to leave town for work and Connor is still at the beach so it was just George, Winston, Ella and I. We all LOVED it so much! I’m officially a sucker and cry at pretty much every Disney/Pixar movie out there. It’s a beautiful story about family, coming of age and how you cannot have true joy without knowing sorrow too.

I’m starting to build inspiration boards and hope to incorporate on the blog. This cobalt/blue color is an absolute favorite right now.
