scenes from our mini getaway + krog street market

Last week ended with my oldest son not only graduating the 8th grade and saying goodbye to his middle school years, but also parting ways with a school he and our entire family have cherished. All of his friends will now find their way to different high schools in the Atlanta area, and it is truly bittersweet. I am extremely proud of the young man he is becoming. There have been several instances in the past months when I look at him and do a double-take because it is hard for me to wrap my head around just how grown up he is. I am blessed to be his mom. Here’s my biggest boy with his little bros:

On Saturday Mr. T had to work so I took the three little ones over to Krog Street Market. It was a gorgeous day and we took it all in. George had some pretty amazing BBQ, Winston loved his burger and fries, Ella shared with both of them, and mama had a pretty amazing bloody mary. I also picked up some Mama Handmade bath soap that I’m loving. The boys helped me pick out the scents – honey almond is almost edible it smells so stinkin good.

atlantabeltline_thompsonkidsI think I want to take our family portraits over here this year. It’s pretty awesome.

After we ate and shopped at The Collective a little {more to share later about my find there} we walked the Beltline. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day for it.

Sunday morning we packed up the brood and headed for Lake Oconee. The Mr. and I got married out there and we’ve been taking the kids back for several years. We really like renting at Cusowilla. They always have fun activities going on for the kiddos, the service is fantastic as is the restaurant. Then there are these views of course.

This gorgeous bridge runs just outside the place we’ve rented several times.

This is an old plantation cemetary we stumbled upon while driving around checking out the real estate.

Here are a few things I wore over the weekend. I got so many compliments on my bathing suit. I was also thrilled to finally have enough color to wear this jumpsuit.
