In atlanta/ family/ style

scenes from the weekend + best homeade playdough recipe

We had another relaxing weekend ‘round here {as relaxing as it gets w/four kids…hash tag for real tho}. Friday I was so pooped – we watched a movie with the kiddos then went to bed like some old folks.

G had a birthday party at K1 Speed on Saturday. It is such a cool place! I think he now wants his bday there too. Here is G below taking off to race all the partygoers. They raced three times throughout the party and you get an email with the results each time, which I thought was neat.

Saturday we hung out with some friends around their sweet fire pit with chili and beer. The kids obviously had no fun at all…

Saying goodbye to the weekend isn’t easy, but next week is Thanksgiving break – which we are oh-so thankful for!!

We made playdough recently and I finally found a fantastic recipe. The first one I tried was a no-cook option and it was a big, fat fail. This one was super easy and turned out great. I even added some mint oil to the first one to make it smell good {not a good idea for super little ones FYI…whoopsie}.

Ingredients:
white flour – 1 cup
warm water – 1 cup
salt – 2 tbsp
cream of tartar – 2 tbsp
cooking oil – 2 tbsp
Jello – 1 3oz pack

Mix all of the ingredients together in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens into a ball of dough. Takes approximately 3-4 mins. Once it’s finished cooking cool the dough on a cutting board covered with flour, then continue to knead it adding flour until it reaches the desired texture. You’re looking at about another cup or so of flour.

Poof…tons of fun!

I found the recipe via pinterest on Modern Parent Messy Kids.
