master bedroom update + scenes from the weekend

Can we talk really quick about The Bachelorette this season?! All I can say is the WTH?! I’m going to see if the next episode redeems itself, but I’m pretty close to giving up on it totally. The show is fun to watch because it’s supposed to at least resemble reality TV. I think they snuck some serious actors on this season…I’m calling it now.

In other news I’m pretty thrilled to have our master bedroom coming along. We have been using Robby’s bachelor furniture for the past 6 years so it is quite refreshing to have some updating.

I love, love, love the Augusta Wilson painting they got me for Mother’s Day! Gifting original art is the best. You have something beautiful hanging in your house to cherish and when I’m 80 I can say the kids gave it to me for MD {smile}. I couldn’t decide if it would hang above the bed or on the side wall, but above the bed won out.

The mirrors on each side of the painting I found when shopping at Krog Street Market. At The Collective has lots of fun finds. These were in the nook of the store from Porter House Inteiors.

Sad to say that the porcelain deer head fell and shattered shortly after I took this photo. Note to self: don’t hang heavier and err breakable objects with sticky hangers…use real nails. I love the character and dimension it brought to that wall so much I already ordered another one. I bought this one from a lady off my local facebook exchange, so I couldn’t replicate it exactly – but this one came pretty close.

deer-head-1775h-160647440I really want to purchase this wall art with my PB rewards. Wouldn’t it be so great to see as you walk out the door everyday?

We had a great weekend hanging out with friends at the pool and Sunday doing a little Father’s Day celebrating with big papa. Breakfast in bed complete with handmade vase (by ella) and homemade cards from the boys.
I promise Winston was with us, he just doesn’t stop moving long enough for me to take his pic. Connor was at the lake for the weekend with a friend {and he’s not very cooperative with pics these days anyway}.
Don’t mind George’s thug hat. That was a daddy-and-me trip to target buy. Link notably not inserted.
Have a great week!
